Meet the Nigerian Web Design Standard (NWDS) Advisory Committee Members
The Nigerian Web Design Standard (NWDS) advisory committee members are tasked with creating a set of standardised design principles, frameworks, and guidelines for all government websites.
Last week, Nigeria’s Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, revealed the members of the Advisory Committee of the Nigerian Web Design Standard (NWDS) project.
The advisory committee—made up of Kene Udeze, Ibrahim Bashir, Mitchelle Chibundu, and Clive Ayonye—is tasked with creating “a visual style that will offer a unique and user-friendly design for Nigerian websites and digital assets, allowing for consistency across multiple touch points,” the minister noted.
Kene Udeze, in a social media post about his new appointment, wrote, “Sometimes you are called to serve. This one feels profoundly different. I am deeply honoured to have been appointed to serve on this advisory committee for [the] Nigerian Web Design Standards project. The opportunity to contribute to defining guidelines that will shape the user experience of government-owned digital platforms across our country is equal parts humbling, exciting and if I'm being honest, terrifying.”
He added, “I'm incredibly grateful to the Minister, Dr. Bosun Tijani & his team for their consideration and the appointment. I look forward to collaborating with the Agency, fellow committee members and the executing team to establish standards that, when implemented, will make government-owned digital services more inclusive, accessible and usable for all Nigerians.”
