dot.ateliers announces open call for its 2025 Artist Residency in Accra, Ghana
The dot.ateliers artist residency program invites artists, with a primary focus on painting and drawing, to immerse themselves in an inspiring and supportive environment in the heart of Accra, Ghana.
dot.ateliers, an initiative founded by acclaimed artist Amoako Boafo in Accra Ghana, has announced the open call for artists to participate in its 2025 Artist Residency Program.
According to dot.ateliers, this opportunity invites artists, with a primary focus on painting and drawing, to immerse themselves in an inspiring and supportive environment in the heart of Accra, Ghana.
Sharing his enthusiasm about the program, Amoako Boafo, the visionary behind dot.ateliers and a 2017 Walter Koschatzky Art Prize jury prize winner, shared, “It’s wonderful to see the residents’ work. Observing the impact the studio space and community have on what they create, along with the exchange and mixing of knowledge, is very humbling.”
The dot.ateliers says the residency program is designed to foster creativity, collaboration, and exploration, providing artists with the space and resources they need to deepen their artistic practices. The serene and captivating location in Accra's city centre offers a transformative experience for emerging and established artists alike.

Who Can Apply
Artists over 18 of all backgrounds, genders, and nationalities are encouraged to apply. Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to pushing their creative boundaries and engaging with the residency community.
Application Requirement
To apply, applicants are require to submit the following materials via the application portal on its website:
1. A single PDF document containing:
5 to 10 artworks with details for each piece (Tile, Medium, Year, Dimensions)
Artist statement
Biography
CV
Contact details for two references (email and/or phone number)
2. A video introduction or a Cover letter introducing oneself and reason for applying to the residency
3. A single headshot of the artist
Selected artists will be responsible for their upkeep. This is an exceptional opportunity to delve into unexplored dimensions of creativity and connect with like-minded artists.

The dot.ateliers, located in Accra's city centre, was launched in December of 2022. It is a residency born from an identified need within our creative ecosystem for more non-commercial opportunities that offer support while facilitating the exchange of perspectives, knowledge, and experiences.
