Retna announces partnership with WikimediaNG
Retna and WikimediaNG have joined forces to tell African stories! Retna is joining WikimediaNG to celebrate Nigeria’s beauty in the #WikiLovesEarth2023 Campaign!
In a recent announcement, Retna, a platform that provides access to beautiful African images to help everyone tell relatable African stories, announced a partnership with WikimediaNG, the Wikimedia Community User Group Nigeria working to effectively achieve the aspirations of Wikimedia in Nigeria.
The announcement stated that “Retna and WikimediaNG have joined forces to tell African stories! This collaboration with one of the world's largest open source media and information platforms, will allow us to do more in terms of helping everyone discover and experience our continent.”
Speaking about the partnership, Tomiwa Allan, one of Retna’s co-founders told TCN that “At Retna Africa, our belief in helping individual brands and businesses tell relatable African stories with African-sourced media and content aligns perfectly with our dream collaboration with one of the internet's largest content repositories – Wikimedia / Wikipedia. Our joint goal is to document and display our world's stunning beauty - starting with Africa, ensuring the preservation of vast histories and knowledge for future generations.”
