Cape Town International Animation Festival (CTIAF) has opened Film submissions for FAME Week Africa 2023
CTIAF celebrates the art and business of animation in Africa. There’s something for everyone including pitching competitions, screenings, studio focus, and industry panels.
Cape Town International Animation Festival (CTIAF), an international animation festival hosted in Cape Town that celebrates the art and business of animation in Africa has opened film submissions ahead of the FAME Week Africa 2023 screenings coming up between September 4 - 6, 2023.
In every corner of the continent, creatives and creators in the animation industry are working day and night to push the boundaries and break barriers by telling stories that shape African narratives. The work they are doing has seen to the growing global success of African animation. For instance, the recently premiered African sci-fi animation, Kizazi Moto by Disney+.
In CTIAF’s announcement for this year’s event, they wrote, “African animation continues to grow and shine on the global stage! The continent is filled with incredible storytellers, artists, and creatives all with new and interesting stories to share. If you are one of those creatives then join us in 2023 at FAME Week Africa. There’s something for everyone including pitching competitions, screenings, studio focus, and industry panels.”
What is FAME Week Africa?
Hosted in the City of Cape Town, FAME Week Africa is an essential destination for African and global creative professionals. It features “content sessions, music showcases, film screenings, exhibitions, and a variety of networking opportunities.” The conferences and festivals will celebrate the convergence of the tech, film, television, animation, and music industries.
FAME Week Africa consists of the following shows: MIP Africa, Cape Town International Animation Festival (CTIAF), Muziki Africa, and Media Entertainment Solutions Africa (MESA).
CTIAF Film Submission
All animated content including music videos, commissioned work, TV series, and TVC are accepted.
Films that are selected will go into CTIAF’s official film selection for 2023 and may be carried over to screenings for early 2024.
By submitting your films you grant CTIAF permission to share these films for screenings internationally at official CTIAF festival partners. The CTIAF team will be in contact should your film be selected.
