Lagos Advertising and Ideas Festival (LAIF) returns for its 18th edition this November
The LAIF Festival Week, regarded as West Africa's biggest and largest celebration of creativity, seeks to recognize creative excellence and will take place from November 9 to November 18, 2023.
The Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (AAAN), the umbrella body that coordinates and promotes the interest of Advertising Agencies in Nigeria, earlier announced that the Lagos Advertising and Ideas Festival (LAIF), an annual event promoting excellence in Advertising & Marketing Communications, will return for its 18th edition this November.
The LAIF Award, an award that seeks to recognize creative excellence, help improve the quality of creative craft, and promote the spirit of healthy competition, applying global best practices, was inaugurated and first presented in 2006.
Following the inauguration of a new LAIF Management Board (the team tasked with planning the festival), the President of AAAN, Steve Babaeko, in a press conference, announced this year’s festival will take place from November 9 to November 18, 2023.
The newly inaugurated members of the management board for the Awards include Jay Chukwuemeka, Henry Akpede, Raphael Idu, Idiare Atimomo, Colette Otusheso, Funmibi Fayo Adeleye, Oyindamola Fakile, Dolapo Ogunbambo, Jumoke Akinyele and Babs Fagade. The new board, chaired by Jay Chukwuemeka, is expected to manage the affairs of the LAIF Awards for the next three years.
To begin their tenure, the board announced the introduction of a new category. “We are introducing a category for Marketing Directors/Departments on the client’s side, with the long-term aim of increasing participation, as we all know that our clients give us the platform to exhibit our genius,” Jay Chukwuemeka, the chairman of the newly inaugurated LAIF Management Board said.
“We believe being nominated in LAIF is no easy feat. Hence, we will be rewarding nominated Agencies moving forward with the prestigious LAIF STAR Badge,” he added
The LAIF Festival Week, regarded as West Africa's biggest and largest celebration of creativity, will feature the LAIF and Direct Conference (Fireside Chats), LAIF Nomination Cocktail Event, LAIF Awards Seminar, Young LAIFERS Competition, Pre-Awards Party, and end with the LAIF Awards Dinner on November 18, 2023.
