In October, Godwin Obaseki, the Governor of Edo State, Nigeria, in an event attended by filmmakers and other important dignitaries, confirmed that the 2023 edition of the Edo State International Film Festival will take place.
The festival is said to be a gathering of movie makers, investors, distributors, exhibitors, and industry enthusiasts from across the globe. For its maiden edition in 2022, about 1150 movies were submitted from 96 countries.
In his speech during the event, the Governor said that his administration has invested in professional sound stage, and editing infrastructure for those who want to produce films in the state. He also mentioned that there’s a performance theatre with accommodation space available.
