Lagos Meet announces contest for Africa’s first-ever 3D billboard
Lagos Meet is calling 3D animators and motion design professionals from across Nigeria to tell inspiring 15-second stories inspired by LAGOS & stand a chance to win up to $5k in cash and other prizes
Lagos Meet, a community of creative professionals in Lagos, announced a 3D billboard challenge. The challenge which is said to be “Africa’s first-ever 3D billboard challenge” is calling 3D animators and motion design professionals from across Nigeria to tell inspiring 15-second stories inspired by LAGOS, and stand a chance to win up to $5k in cash and other amazing partner prizes.
Partnering with Alphaandjam, Unreal Engine, and the Lagos State Council for Arts & Culture, the challenge aims to celebrate the creative spirit of Lagos and the ground-breaking 3D billboard. Participants are encouraged to showcase their artistic abilities and connect their work to the campaign's themes of creativity, innovation, and Lagos; and the power of this new canvas to tell engaging stories.
Awarding Criteria
Prizes will be awarded by a jury panel made up of expert 3D designers, cultural custodians, marketing professionals, and technical partners who are able to evaluate entries from multiple perspectives. The award jury is composed of voluntary experts who take pride in their work ethics as well as their professions.
Originality: They want to see your creative spark shine! Show your unique and innovative ideas that make your entry stand out.
Storytelling and Narrative Detail: Your design should tell a captivating story about Lagos. Pay attention to the little details in your narrative that bring your concept to life.
Technical Execution: They are looking for top-notch quality and skill in how you bring your design to life. Make sure your technical execution is on point.
Eligibility
The contest is open to individuals who are 18 years or older. By entering the contest, participants are confirming that they're eligible to take part and can receive any prizes they might win.
Each person can submit only one entry and participation is completely free.
Prize Categories

Best Overall Submission: The top prize recognizes the most outstanding entry, and it comes with a cash reward of $3k.
Best Technical Execution: There’s a special prize supported by Unreal Engine for those who excel in technical skills and execution. Winning entries in this category will be created using Unreal Engine, and the prize is set at $2k.
People's Choice Award: Fellow designers and the general public will have a say too! The People's Choice winner will receive recognition and fantastic prizes.
