Relio Studios announces BreakTunes, an animated series designed to address critical issues children face today in society
BreakTunes, a 3D animation with original music and characters, was borne out of the need to encourage children to speak up and seek help when the need arises
Relio Studios, an animation studio focused on telling impactful stories, recently announced BreakTunes, an animated series designed to address the critical issues that children face today in society—starting with child sexual abuse awareness.
BreakTunes is Relio Studios’ flagship 3D animation with original music and characters to produce diverse and inclusive content for its audiences across the globe. “Our research-based episodes and songs cover a wide range of social topics, with our first season focused on sexual abuse awareness for children,” Relio Studios notes.
According to Esosa Asabor, the creator of BreakTunes, the project was borne out of the need to encourage children to speak up and seek help when the need arises.
Esosa notes that statistics suggest that “from 2010 to 2023, the number of child sexual abuse material available online grew from 1 million to over 30 million,” adding that the number only refers to the number of materials available online, however, “the number of children who have been sexually abused online is over 300 million.” Research also suggests that 1 in 5 children have been sexually abused, and according to studies, 2 out of 3 cases of child sexual abuse go unreported.

Despite the alarming numbers, Esosa says research suggests that 95% of child sexual abuse cases that occur are preventable through education and the provision of the right resources. So, with BreakTunes, “we are working to encourage children to speak up and seek help when the need arises and also to help children who have been sexually abused to understand that it is not their fault and help them get remediation,” she says.
“We have partnered with child psychologists, child educators and other experts in their field to ensure that our content is safe for the consumption of children,” Esosa explains. “BreakTunes comprises of amazing music, animated characters, beautiful colouring and other researched features that we know children love.”
She adds: “With so much research done and still being done, we are positive about the impact this will have on children… Our goal is to reach 10 million children in the next 5 years.”
