Emerging Expressions announces open call for the second edition of its art fair for Nigerian undergraduates
Creath is inviting all undergraduate students—artists and filmmakers—across Nigerian universities, art institutions, and art foundations to participate in the second edition of Emerging Expression
Emerging Expressions, an art fair dedicated to empowering Nigeria’s next generation of creative voices, has announced its return for a second edition this year.
Emerging Expressions—curated by Creath, a blockchain and art curation firm—is now accepting submissions for this year’s edition of the art fair, themed ‘HOW DO WE LEARN TO SEE.’
“In a world of quick glances and Instagram scrolls, how do we really see each other? How do we see ourselves? Your art could help answer these questions,” the announcement stated. “If you're an undergraduate student in any Nigerian university, art school, or foundation, we want to hear your story. Whether you paint, sculpt, shoot photos, create digital art, or make films – your voice matters.”
The art fair—which featured 58 artists from across 50+ Nigerian universities and art institutions and 2000+ attendees in its first edition—is expanding its horizons to include not just visual art, but also film and documentary works for its second edition.

“We invite all undergraduate students across Nigerian universities, art institutions, and art foundations to participate. Whether you’re an artist or a filmmaker, we want to see your unique perspective on this theme,” it noted. “From painting to sculpture to mixed media to photography to AR/VR installations, we want to see how you define how we learn to see and tell exciting stories with your art.”
It added, “We're looking for works that make people stop, think, and feel. Maybe it's a portrait that challenges how we judge people at first glance. Or a film that shows what it's like to grow up in today's Nigeria. Or perhaps it's an AR installation that changes how we experience everyday spaces.”
